Tired all the time refers to a feeling of deep exhaustion or lack of energy which is not relieved by sleep. It is not to be confused with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome where fatigue is just one symptom of a complex illness.
There are a number of causes for TATT, the first and most obvious being a lack of good quality sleep. It is important to make sure that you are getting adequate numbers of hours sleep. Sleep quality can be worsened by drinking caffeinated drinks, eating late in the evening, having a television in the bedroom or because of conditions such as night sweats during the menopause.

Diet and Lifestyle Factors
Eat a well balance diet and include complex carbohydrates from wholemeal cereals, bread and pasta and at least 5 portions of fresh fruit and vegetables. Eat good quality proteins including oily fish 3 times a week.
Keep blood sugar levels stable by eating little and often. Snack on fruit, nuts, seeds and avoid crips, cakes and biscuits.
As sugar depletes the immune system, eliminate all sugary foods and drinks.
Cut out all caffeinated drinks such as tea, coffee and cola as they stimulate your body to produce adrenalin which gives you a temporary energy boost. Reliance on caffeine will deplete the adrenal glands leading to adrenal exhaustion.
